Abstract

Reinforced concrete beams (RC) in concrete structures are considered very important structural elements because they transfer all loads from the slabs to the concrete columns. Therefore, studying concrete beams exposed to loads is important to understand the behavior they may exhibit in terms of failure. Shear Strength is known to be a type of failure that occurs in concrete beams, and it happens suddenly, which is extremely dangerous. Therefore, in this research (109) specimens of reinforced-concrete-beams include transverse reinforced (with-stirrups), and (109) specimen of reinforced-concrete-beams-without transverse reinforced (without-stirrups) are investigated, using different types of concrete with a rectangular cross-section for all the adopted specimens, with a comparison of testing outcomes of the specimens with American standard code (ACI318-14), (AASHTO-LRFD-24), and the New Zealand standard (NZS), 1995, to determine the degree of closeness of the results and the deviation present in the models, and which equations provide more accurate and closer results to the practical outcomes.
