Abstract

Slurry infiltrated fibrous concrete exhibits high strength and ductility; however, its residual mechanical behaviour following direct flame exposure remains inadequately documented using paired pre- and post-fire measurements. This study experimentally evaluated compressive, splitting tensile, and flexural strengths of a plain slurry matrix and SIFCON containing 6% and 8% fibre volumes at ambient temperature, 400°C, and 600°C under direct liquefied petroleum gas flames. At 600°C, the 6% fibre mix exhibited reductions of 31.3%, 39.2%, and 41.1% in the respective properties. Greater losses occurred in the plain matrix, whereas the 8% mix consistently showed improved residual performance after thermal exposure.
